The ACMS by-laws define the membership year as beginning September 1 and ending on August 31 of each year regardless of when an individual or institution has joined during the academic year. However, new members who join after March 1 of the calendar year will have their membership extended until the following September. For example, if a new member joins on April 2, 2024, their membership will remain active until September 1, 2025, at which point they will receive a renewal reminder. Additionally, the ACMS extends membership renewal periods until January 1 of each year to allow for late payments. Members should receive renewal notifications in August/September and again in December/January of each year if their memberships are due to expire. If members have not renewed their memberships by December/January, their names are removed from the membership list for that academic year.
