Inaugural Norwalk Center for Global Studies High School International Cultural Exchange Program

The American Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS) was thrilled to host a group of 18 students and their teachers from the Norwalk Center for Global Studies—an International Baccalaureate magnet high school located in Norwalk, CT, for a five-day intercultural exchange program from May 23rd to May 29th, 2026.

Orientation & Cross-Cultural Connections

The journey began with an orientation at the ACMS office on May 23rd. Throughout this exciting first day, the visiting students engaged in cross-cultural exchange, explored shared research pathways, and visited the American Corner at the Ulaanbaatar Public Library (Natsagdorj Library). There, they participated in an English Public Speaking Club alongside local Mongolian students, building beautiful bridges of global connection.

Immersive Cultural Exploration

Throughout their stay, the students visited culturally and historically significant sites in Ulaanbaatar and embarked on immersive field trips beyond the city. Their journey included enriching visits to Hustai National Park, the Chinggis Khan Statue Complex, and Terelj National Park, where they had the wonderful opportunity to spend two days interacting with students from the Terelj Boarding School.

We had a truly wonderful time with this group and are deeply grateful for the trust they put in ACMS to make their program unforgettable. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to making this inaugural exchange a success. We look forward to hosting them again next year!
