ACMS 20th Anniversary Celebration!

On June 4, 2024 the ACMS held a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of our Ulaanbaatar office. We celebrated the occasion at the Chinggis Khan National Museum, highlighting the many ways the ACMS has supported the development of Mongolian Studies over the years including our language, field research, field school and library fellowships. The ACMS has raised over $6,000,000 to date to support Field Research Fellowships for US-based scholars engaging in field research in Mongolia, Library fellowships to expand access to Mongolian Studies related materials in Mongolia, and build capacity of Mongolian libraries, Field School fellowships to support scholars and lifelong learners from around the world coming to Mongolia to participate in ACMS Field Schools, and Language Program fellowships to support scholars developing Mongolian language proficiency in order to conduct research in Mongolia.

Speeches by Honored Guests including Professor Zayabaatar Dalai, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, National University of Mongolia, and Secretary General of the International Association of Mongolian Studies. Professor Unurbayan Tsedev, Director, Mongolian Studies Center, The Mongolian National University of Education, and Attyat Mayans, ACMS Field Research and Language Program Fellow.

The event concluded with dinner and drinks in the reception hall on the 6th floor of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum of Mongolia.
