Getting Started...
|
| In order to create new articles or edit articles you must first establish an account and verify it by e-mail. You can do this by clicking the "Log in/create account" hyperlink in the top right hand corner of you browser window. Once you have an account established you can begin modifying the Mongol Studies Online Reference.
Creating pages and editing articles in wiki's is intended to be easy for people without technical degrees in computer science. The key word there is "intended." For the most part wiki's are quite easy to use, but there are times when you have to learn some computer code to make your articles display correctly. A good place to begin is looking at Wikipedia's Help documentation.
Another option is to use the help documentation for this wiki. However, much of the information specific to this website has yet to be created! This is something you might consider helping out with.
Finally, you can read the concept paper behind this project. It provides background information about how this project will be managed and develop over time.
This resource cannot grow without your contribution, so please create an account and start writing and editing articles.

About the ACMS
|
|
The American Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS) was incorporated in April 2002 to encourage and facilitate academic research in Mongolia and Inner Asia, a broad region consisting of Mongolia and parts of China, Russia and Central Asia, including Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Buryatia, Tuva and eastern Kazakhstan. It is a US registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit, academic organization and a Mongolia registered non-governmental, non-profit organization. In the past five years the organization has initiated and been involved in numerous activities that encourage and facilitate academic research in the region.
The primary areas of focus include direct logistical support to students and faculty in the form of services, fellowships, and grant opportunities, organizing and sponsoring conferences, and disseminating and making information accessible about Inner Asia and research in the region.
