Mobicom

Mobicom was the first mobile phone service provider in Mongolia, starting operations in March of 1996. It is a joint venture between the Japanese companies KDDI and Sumitomo and the Mongolian NewCom Group. The French company Alcatel is its technology supplier. Mobicom's mobile phone service uses GSM 900/1800 technology. They also provide Wireless Local Loop (WLL) service, satellite communications service, and are an internet service provider under the company name Mobinet. Mobicom has about 466,000 customers.[1]
