Capital Bank is a commercial bank headquartered in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The bank currently has 188 staff members.

Capital Bank was established in 1990 as the "Industrial Shareholding Bank." Its owners consisted of 16 state-owned enterprises, as well as various other private businesses. Currently, the bank has a network of 27 branches and settlement centers, 15 in Ulaanbaatar and the rest in Arkhangai, Dornogovi, Khövsgöl, Orkhon, and Ömnögovi aimags.[1]. In 2007, assets reached MNT 48.7 billion (41.9 percent increase from 2006) and total liabilities amounted to MNT 40.2 billion (48.6 percent increase).[2]

Resulting from the Bank's involvement with donor-funded loan projects such as the Asian Development Bank funded Micro Loan Project or the [[World Bank Involvement in Mongolia| World Bank funded "Sustainable Livings Project"], Capital Bank has been able to support small- and medium-sized enterprises[4]. For micro and medium business support loans, the monthly interest rate is 1.8 percent; for companies partnered with the "Sustainable Livelihoods Project," the interest rate is 2.0 percent; and for Employment Generation Project Loans, which are loans aimed to finance unemployed individual, members of nomadic family, non-governmental workers and companies beginning their own small business, the interest rate is around 1.3 to 1.5 percent.[5]
